MT vs Bags vs Pallets vs Sq ft — picking the right unit for your chamber

The first question every new partner asks during onboarding: should I measure my chamber in metric tonnes, bags, pallets, or square feet? The answer depends entirely on what you are storing.

A quick decision tree

  • MT — best for ammonia plants, bulk grain, ice cream, and anything bin-stored.
  • Bags — the right choice for potatoes, rice and gunny-packed produce.
  • Pallets — mangoes, bananas, and packaged fruit. Easy to count at the door.
  • Sq ft — blast freezers and ripening rooms where capacity is floor area.

Cold Konnect lets you mix units across chambers within a single cold storage — Chamber A in MT, Chamber B in bags is totally fine.
